White's Woods Nature Center

Sat, September 21, 2024, 10:00 am – 12:00 noon

Plant Patrol has scheduled this work event and we are seeking volunteers.

Description

Friends of White's Woods (FWW) has planned a multi-organization work event to pull barberry bushes from White's Woods Nature Center. Plant Patrol will participate as a team. FWW will give a prize to the barberry-pulling champion team.

Our team will work along Spring Trail in the Natural Heritage Area. We will meet at the 12th Street parking lot. Parking spaces are very limited, so carpool if you can or park on the streets below the parking lot and walk up to the park entrance.

Wear long sleeves, long pants, and sturdy footwear to protect against sharp barberry spines. Bring your own water. Bring your own favorite pair of work gloves or use our thorn-resistant gloves. FWW will serve light refreshments afterwards.
