Description

Our goal is to kill the Tree-of-Heaven growing on the YMCA grounds. We will use hatchets to cut into the bark of Tree-of-Heaven and apply glyphosate herbicide to the cuts. This should kill the trees without triggering their response to send up dozens of new stems from the roots.

Tree-of-Heaven is a favorite host of Spotted Lanternfly. Spotted Lanternfly entered southern Indiana County in 2022. We might be able to slow its progress by killing as much Tree-of-Heaven in the county as we can.
